I am so confused with what I've read in the internet about drinking lots of water. What I had heard and known long before that drinking large amount of water is beneficial to every individual's health but how about this article posted in the internet entitled Drinking Lots of Water Has Little Health Benefit
the story goes like this......
Two kidney experts have taken it on themselves to dispel a of myths regarding water. Dr. Stanley Goldfarb and Dr. Dan Negoianu of the Renal, Electrolyte, and Hypertension Division at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia reviewed several published clinical studies on the benefits of drinking a large amount of water daily, and found that there was little proof to back up the theories.
There are plenty of myths floating around about the benefits of drinking a lot of water, and some of these myths seem almost factual due to their popularity. The standard U.S. recommendation of 8 glasses of 8 oz of water per day is widely known, but there is little if any evidence to prove this beneficial.
Goldfarb and Negoianu agreed that some people, such as athletes or those that live in very dry, hot climates may require this much water to keep from being dehydrated, but for the average person, there is absolutely no evidence that drinking this quantity of water is beneficial.
Their study, which will be published in the June 2008 issue of the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, may dispel many of the water-related myths.
Goldfarb insists that the sources of the “water myth” are the worlds of complementary and alternative medicine, and that the spread of the myth was propelled even further by the internet.
how about this one......?

Dehydration is one of the biggest concerns for Americans, especially those who suffer from illnesses, obesity and elderly. Some effects of dehydration include: dry skin, fissured tongue, sunken facial structures, loss of skin elasticity and plumpness of the skin. Most Americans are dehydrated because we consume too much caffeine, (including coffee, teas and soda) which causes our bodies to lose water. Water is natural refreshment and is the main component of human bodies. Water is necessary for digestion, especially when consuming fiber. Most Americans are constipated from dehydration, poor diets and lack of exercise. Fiber cannot perform its job properly without the help of water. When you’re dehydrated, your blood becomes thickened, which forces your body to work harder to circulate blood. In turn, you find it difficult to concentrate and you feel easily fatigued......"
I just only presented here some articles about water as health beneficial and on the other side lacks health benefits. Anyway, better consult your doctor for the right choice whether to drink water enough or not.
